Colors Against Cancer

In 2003, 11-year-old Edgemont student Taylor Matthews was diagnosed with bone cancer. Taylor wanted something good to come from her battle against cancer, so she created Tay-Bandz to raise public awareness about childhood cancer and fund pediatric cancer research. For many years our community has gathered to support Relay for Tay, an event honoring Taylor. As a tribute to Taylor and to extend the focus of the Relay event, we have created “Colors Against Cancer,” for which we are glad to have continued community support. In honor of Taylor's memory and to continue to proudly support the fight against cancer, on May 1, 2022, the "Colors Against Cancer" color run will be held.
