The Cade Chapel-Nate Ruffin Scholarship Fund was established in 2003 through a generous donation by Nate’s widow, Sharon, to honor his dedication to education. High school graduates from Jackson Public Schools, Cade Chapel Baptist Church, and the Virden Addition Community are encouraged to apply each year for the Cade Chapel Nate Ruffin Scholarship in their quest for educational advancement and achievement. The Scholarship funds are supported through annual fundraisers, individual donations, and/or corporate donations. Since August, 2004, the Nate Ruffin Scholarship Board has awarded over 192 scholarships to students who are currently enrolled at (or graduated from) various colleges and universities.

Race Route: The 5-kilometer (3.1 miles) course starts and finishes at Smith Park (302 Amite St, Jackson, MS 39201

"Rep Your School" in the Nate Ruffin Annual 5K Walk & Run by wearing your high school tee shirt or school colors. Schools with the most representation will win $500 for their school. A minimum of 25 participants per school to qualify. For Kids 6-12 registration is $10 (Disclaimer note: Child must walk/run with parent or guardian).
