Did you know that 1 in 4 Canadians know someone who has needed to rely on a Ronald McDonald House?

I will be walking/hiking for my little, and all the other kids and families that require the care of the Ronald McDonald House. 

It's not just a place to sleep.  

It is a warm meal, when you have been bedside all day. It is a hot shower when you spent all night sitting in a chair keeping a watchful eye. It's a warm quilt when the hospital blankets aren't cutting it.  It is someone to talk to when you feel all alone. It's cheerleaders when you feel so defeated.  It is the sweet treat & hot coffee at 3 PM when the days feel so long. It's a place for your significant other to be close by. It's home, when you cannot be at home.

I am not sure you can ever fully appreciate these facilities until you are walking in the doors for the first time.  Or that moment when you are checking out, and they take your child to a room, that is truly magic, filled with every toy they could dream of.

I am grateful for the Ronald McDonald House.
