My Story…
In April 2021, my dad was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. Over the next 9 months he endured chemotherapy, the Whipple surgery, and more chemotherapy. Only 1 in 5 people diagnosed with PC are ever eligible for the surgery, but more than 64,000 people are diagnosed with PC each year. A whopping 85% are diagnosed at Stage IV. The five year survival rate is just 11%.
While I wish pancreatic cancer didn't exist and that no one or their families had to face this terrible disease, I am proud to be making a positive impact through raising awareness and funds for Project Purple.
Project Purple and its mission are near and dear to my heart. They not only support critical research for early detection, more effective treatments, and a cure, but they also provide patient support through care packages and financial aid.
Please consider joining me for the annual Turkey Trot and walk, hike, or run a 5k. Do it all at once or split it up. You can also support my fundraising efforts with a gift. All proceeds benefit the quest for early detection, better treatment options, and a cure.
Your support means the world to me and makes a difference! Thank you!
