Help Regina raise money

May 22, 2008 I was scheduled for a routine prenatal check up. I was going to attend my appointment alone but my mom insisted on coming with me this day. During the appt, they did an ultrasound to check my sons heartbeat. At my previous appts they had a hard time so this time around I wasn’t surprised they could not find his heartbeat right away. The nurse then started to worry and brought in another machine that showed something else I cannot even remember. The nurse said she needed to get the doctor. Once the doctor came in and also could not find the heartbeat I still had no clue what to expect. The doctor said we cannot find a heartbeat. I looked at my mom and she knew. It took me a minute to realize what was going on and the doctors said they would give us a moment. I remember thinking my son is gone? His heart stopped just like that? When the doctors left the room my mom asked me, “do you know what they are saying?” I responded, “that he’s dead” and started crying. My mothers instincts kicked in and for some reason knew she needed to be with me at that appt. We then called my husband and other family members to let them know what happened and that I would be going to the hospital to delivery my baby who was already gone. May 23, 2008 at 823pm my son, Dominic Israel Tootle, silently entered this world. I was surrounded by family and friends at the hospital. The nurses were kind enough to take pictures of my son and moldings of his feet and hands. At the hospital I received a grief packet that had info about “A Walk to Remember” which has since turned into NILMDTS Remembrance Walk. I’ve been able to be apart of these walks since 2008 which have truly helped my healing. In 2011, I had my rainbow baby, Journee, and in 2013, was blessed with my third child, Trinitee.
