Help us raise money

For the fourth year in a row, the Faigen family will be participating in Miles for Migraine, a fundraiser for migraine and headache awareness, treatment, and research. All donations from this event will benefit the MedStar Georgetown Headache Center, where Talia has been receiving care for many years.

A note from Talia:

Everyone could be fighting a battle you know nothing about. Just by looking at me, you would never know that I have New Persistent Daily Headache (NPDH), an “invisible” diagnosis defined by having daily headaches and migraines lasting more than three months. I have had headache and migraine pain 24 hours a day, seven days a week for the last ten years. 

If you have ever had a headache or migraine, you can begin to understand the pain I undergo every day. However, many people don’t realize how serious, debilitating, and incapacitating chronic headaches and migraines can be. Many days, how I feel dictates what I can and cannot handle. My pain has caused me to miss out on work, celebrations, and other events that most 20-somethings are able to experience without a second thought. But, even after countless tests, procedures, and hospital stays that have resulted in little to no relief, I am still hopeful that one day I will be pain free. 

In the meantime, I aim to normalize talking openly about chronic pain and abolish the stigma that headaches and migraines are temporary or solved with an aspirin. I  would also like to encourage you to be supportive, empathetic, and kind to those around you, because you never know what someone is going through! xoxo
