Who can enter?
Anyone turning 7-19 in 2023 can enter. As these events double as the QSS trials for the Wide Bay region, ages apply for the 2023 season. The event you can race in is determined by your age. No exceptions will be made to stepping up/down distances.
Do I have to be eligible to be selected for school sport team?
No, you can opt in or out to this in the entry process. If you select yes, your details will be passed onto QSS officials for the purposes of being contacted regarding State Title races held in February 2023.
What are the race distances?
Race distances are listed in the description for each event on the registration page. Triathlons are listed as Swim(m)/Bike(km)/Run(m) and Aquathlons listed as Run(km)/Swim(m)/Run(km)
Where exactly are the races conducted?
In general, at Scarness Park, Hervey Bay. This is race central from the Hervey Bay 100 race weekend. Triathlon events are ocean swim, ride on closed circuit from Tooan Creek to Tavistock St on the Esplanade and the run is on the Esplanade path. Exceptions to this is the first Aquathlon runs are conducted on the road, and Mini-Aquathlon is all on the beach.
Race Attire
All races are run under Triathlon Australia sanctioning and rules, so refer to https://www.triathlon.org.au/Assets/Triathlon+Australia+Digital+Assets/2021+TA+Race+Competition+Rules.pdf
In general, wear clothes suitable for Swimming/Riding/Running (as applicable). Torso must be covered during Ride/Run legs and shoes must be worn on the run. (Mini-Aqua is all on the beach and these requirements don't apply)
