I am running for oneROOF Youth Services! 

oneROOF Youth Services is committed to providing for the safety, support, and overall wellbeing of youth who are experiencing homelessness or at risk of homelessness, ages 12-25, in Waterloo Region.

Our objective is to maintain the health and safety of this vulnerable population by providing resources and services that will allow them to make positive choices to end the cycle of homelessness.

The funds raised will literally go towards helping us keep the doors open for youth accessing our Lifeline Program. This program is exactly what the name depicts – a lifeline to youth experiencing homelessness, abuse, violence, mental health/substance use and crisis.  Lifeline operates 24/7 and is made up of two components – our daytime Essential Services Program (ESP) and our evening Drop-In Services (EDI). Our daytime ESP exists in order to meet the basic daily needs of youth, including meals, laundry service, medical care, an ID Clinic, personal lockers and donation storage space, computer labs, showers and case management etc.. Our EDI is more formalized and offers all of the services of ESP, as well as formalized transitioning to adulthood, homelessness and housing (i.e. Landlord/Tenant Act, Safe Dating Practices, Financial Literacy, Planned Parenthood, etc.). These programs assist youth to establish goals, develop life skills, accesses linkages and additional resources and to stay healthy and safe.  Ultimately, Lifeline enables youth to break the cycle of homelessness and move toward a more appropriate housing solution.
