The Matthew 25:35 Ministries is thrilled to be hosting its eighth annual Need to Feed Run/Walk on Saturday, June 4th, 2022. All proceeds from this event will provide food for area families in need through the Matthew 25:35 Ministries' Food Pantry as well as, raise awareness of "the need to feed" the hungry in St. Charles Parish. The ministry also host educational events for clients, their children and the community as well as social and holiday events. Our food pantry currently provided food for 250-500 families each month.
LOCATION: St Charles United Methodist Church, 1905 Ormond Blvd, Destrehan, LA 70047
REGISTRATION: Online and in-person registration is available. Registration is $25 for ages 0-13, $30 for ages 14 and up, per person. Each participate registered on or before May 10th will receive a t-shirt, medal, and food. Registrations after May 10th will receive t-shirts and medals as supplies last.
COURSE ROUTE: Participates will head south on Ormond Blvd from the parking lot, then continue left on the levee. Course will u-turn at Ormond Plantation and reverse back to St. Charles United Methodist Church's parking lot.
TIMES FOR EVENT DAY:
7:30 am - Registration and packet pick up open
8:00 am - Prayer and warm-up
8:30 am - Need to Feed 5K Run begins
9:30 am - FREE Refreshments for 5K participants
Parking:
No parking will be allowed in the church parking lot. You can park in the Shriner's Parking lot across the street on the Ormond Blvd. side of the parking lot.
Cancellation:
If for some reason the event has to be cancelled your entry fee will become a donation to Matthew 25:35 Ministries. We will have the event in light rain but will not in case of dangerous weather.

"Need to Feed" Day
Matthew 25:35 Ministries' is planning a fun filled day for all in the community. We will have "Feed a Truck" where all will be asked to bring a can of food to "Feed" your favorite vehicle parked in the parking lot at the church. All will be allowed to take pictures and explore the vehicles on the grounds, We will also have Children Activities including games and demonstrations between 8am and 2pm. To help you know what the community has to offer we will be hosting a Help/Resource Fair. You can explore the displays and enjoy finding all that St. Charles Parish has to serve you.
SNAP Applications will be taken at the event.
Applications for 2022-2023 Food Distributions and Catholic Charities applications will be filled out at the event. Please bring your utility bill with applicants name and address on it, proof of income (pay stub, awards letters...) for ALL income that comes into the home, and bring a list of the names and birthdays of all that are in the household. When you have your application completed and verified you will receive you car placket which will allow you to get in the express line in July instead of waiting to fill out your application then!!
