My Story…
February 24 2009 was the day everything changed for me. It was the day that the car I was riding passenger in lost control and wrapped around a telephone pole, leaving me scarred with the traumatic brain injury I live with today. As I sit here and type this, I remember that my story is one of survival and triumph. But I also remember that many aren't as fortunate as I am. Many face a much longer, more difficult road to survival. I'm running this event to not only raise brain injury awareness and raise funds to support BIST, but to also honour and remember those who we've lost and those who continue to fight through their road to recovery.
