Join Sisters Empowerment Network, Inc., and our community partners for the 2022 Walk a Mile in Her Shoes 5K Walk/Run Against Domestic Violence to raise awareness, and support survivors of intimate partner violence. Many of us have family members, friends, co-workers, church members or have ourselves experienced intimate partner violence at some point in our lifetime. Let's run together to show that domestic violence is not tolerated in our homes or communities.
Participants can elect to run in-person or walk/run around your neighborhood, community park or treadmill at your own pace and a place of your choice at our 11th annual Walk a Mile in Her Shoes 5K Walk/Run Against Domestic Violence. This year the walk will be held at the beautiful Clayton County International Park (The Beach) in Jonesboro, Georgia.
Virtual Walk Participants: Participants must register by Monday, September 26th to guarantee the t-shirt and swag bag. Swag bags and t-shirts will be mailed on or after Monday, October 3rd. Participants may still register after this deadline but WILL NOT receive a t-shirt or swag bag. Virtual participants, please scroll down this page to read more about the Runkeeper app to track your distance as well as information on showcasing your walk photos.
In-Person Participants: Participants will receive their swag bag/t-shirt at the 5K during registration. Participants must register by Monday, September 26th to guarantee the t-shirt and swag bag. Participants may still register for the In-person walk after the deadline but WILL NOT receive a t-shirt or swag bag. Full details and instructions on swag bag/t-shirt pick-up will be emailed to all paid participants before walk day.
New This Year: NO EXCUSE FOR ABUSE KIDS FUN RUN! Help kids show their support to end domestic violence in their community. Children from ages 7-12 can register to participate in the KIDS FUN RUN and will receive a participation medal with every paid registration. Participants must register by Monday, September 26th to guarantee the participation medal and swag bag. Participants may still register for the fun run after the deadline but WILL NOT receive a medal or swag bag.
Domestic violence takes place in our nation every minute of every day, occurring just about every 15 seconds. Most Americans don’t realize just how real domestic violence is and how many lives are affected by it.
The Annual Walk a Mile in Her Shoes 5K Walk/Run Against Domestic Violence is a symbolic gesture of families and communities walking together seeking to raise awareness, provide support and remember those affected by domestic violence.
All proceeds from the race benefit Sisters Empowerment Network, Inc. to continue our work to help end domestic violence against women and children.

Winner's Circle:
In-Person: 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners will receive the 2022 winner's trophies. Winners will be Virtual: 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners will be determined using the ASICS Runkeeper™. Complete details on how to use the app and rules to qualify as one of the top winners will be emailed to all paid participants beginning, October 1st.
Post Rally & Awards Ceremony: The awards ceremony will be held in the St. Thomas Pavilion inside the park following the walk.
The Biggest Team Challenge: The team captain with the largest number of paid team participants to register for the 5K will receive the 2022 Biggest Team Winner's Trophy.
