What is the ‘Junction Swim’?
The Junction swim is a new event from the Hervey Bay Triathlon Club, formed to keep the ‘Bean Beat Crown Ocean Series’ complete with 3 swims.
How far is the swim?
Well………it’s not a case of how far but how long ;) At the Junction Swim, you will enter a race lasting either 20, 40 or 60 minutes.
What?
The course for the swim is a 300m lap. Each race has a mass start, and you will swim laps, running up the beach at the end of each lap and re-entering the water for the next lap. You finish your race, when reaching the beach turn point after your 20, 40 or 60 minute time limit is up.

Where is the swim?
The swim will be based at Ron Beaton Park, which is just East of the Hervey Bay Surf Lifesaving Club.
How many people are in each race?
Places are limited to 80 per event. This is to help our amazing water safety providers from the Hervey Bay Surf Lifesaving Club and to give a quality fun event for all.
Can I do more than one race?
No, to give as many people a chance to race, we are proposing that any 1 person can only compete in one of the races.
Are there age limits?
Yes, the 40 and 60 minutes swims are open to 18+ aged athletes only.
How much is entry?
All swims are $40 to enter.
What does my entry fee cover?
Your entry fee covers a swim cap, finisher prize, a drink voucher at Crafty Cargo Taphouse after the event, professional event timing and our donation to HBSLSC for providing water safety services.
Are there prizes for the winners?
Yes, there will be prizes for the top 3 in each division.
What are the divisions?
Race results will be published as Male/Female -40 and 40+, with the 20 minute swim including an U18 division.
What about wetsuits, swim aids and watches?
No wetsuits or swim aids allowed, standard swimming attire to be worn only.
Watches will be allowed to be worn.
