402 Squadron Grizzly Challenge
The Grizzly Challenge is an annual memorial cycling ride to commemorate all the Canadian Forces Members lost in Afghanistan. It began as a 402 Squadron initiative in 2010 but has grown to include participants from many other units at 17 Wing Winnipeg. Riders pledge to ride a total distance of 158km (1km for each member lost). Participants and interested parties are encouraged to donate towards Soldier On, a military charity that assists CAF members and the military community at large. Grizzly Challenge Participants and Donors over the years have raised and contributed thousands towards military charities!
DISTANCE: 158km, 1km for each Canadian member lost in Afghanistan.
DATES: 25 July 22 - 08 Aug 22 , Riders will have two weeks to complete the 158km distance and can complete the distance solo or as part of a team.
NUMBER OF RIDES: Unlimited, Riders can break the distance into as many rides as they want.
DONATIONS: Participants and interested parties are encouraged to donate towards Soldier On, a military charity that assists CAF members and the military community at large.
