My Story…
Growing up in Pittston, I have been able to witness the revitalization and upbringing of the community, that this town I am very proud to call home, has become. Unfortunately, we all know someone who has heard the words “You have cancer” and with the spirit of Paint Pittston pink and all its entities, I hope one day people do not have to hear that life shattering statement.
Working in healthcare as a registered nurse in the ICU and currently pursuing my doctorate in anesthesia, I see the frontline effects of how cancer effects patients differently, how evolutionary cancer research is, and the importance of fighting this battle. When I’m not working in the hospital, catch me on the bikes at AnthraCycle, helping people better themselves through spin!
Alongside my parents, Lori and Allan, sister, Cara and Brother-in-law, Aaron, Paint Pittston pink is one of my favorite events and charities to support. No community pulls together stronger than Pittston does when it is painted Pink! I am running in honor of all those who have fought the courageous fight, who continue to fight it and who will have to fight it. I also am running in honor of my grandfather, Mayor Tony Denisco and my brother-in-law's father, Michael Joyce, who were both two amazing men taken away from us too soon from the awful disease known as cancer.
