Sprint for Safety
A fun virtual 5k that you can walk or run
October 1 - November 30, 2022
October is National Pedestrian Safety Month! The Florida Department of Transportation District 7 and the Center for Urban Transportation Research (CUTR) invite you to get outdoors and walk or run during a fun challenge as we raise awareness about pedestrian safety. Sprint for Safety is a fun virtual event for anyone who lives or works in Citrus, Hernando Hillsborough, Pasco, or Pinellas Counties. Choose to walk or run a 5K (3.1 miles) or one mile from October 1 through November 30, 2022.
It is easy to participate: Document your time running or walking using the fitness app of your choice, and then upload a screenshot to Race Roster. The first 300 participants to complete the 5K will receive a beautiful commemorative race medal. Complete one mile and receive a digital Certificate of Completion.
We also encourage you to upload a photo to the gallery from your run or walk!
There is no cost to participate in this event, but if you would like to support our efforts, please consider making a tax-deductible donation to CUTR's safety fund managed by the USF Foundation.
