The Ugly Sweater Run and Walk is coming to Kortright this November 27th!
Tis the season to don those ugliest of sweaters, onesies and outfits, and get to the start line for a timed 3k, 5k and 10k festive trail run.
This will be happening on the opening weekend of the Magical Christmas Forest at the Kortright Centre for Conservation in Woodbridge - lights and decorations will be in full force for this event!
There will be post-race treats and hot drinks for everyone as well as awards and prizing!
As much as this is going to be a fun event for those of us participating, we will be raising funds for those many individuals and families that will have a harder season than most. A portion of the proceeds will be going towards the Daily Bread Food Bank. You can also help out, by making an online donation directly to the Daily Bread, bring cash to the event and we will forward to the Daily Bread Food Bank or you can drop off to your local Daily Bread (or local food bank) or the fire department. You can also bring non-perishable items with you - we will have boxes at the registration area.

RACE KIT PICK UP AND START TIMES:
- Kit pick starts at 8:15am on November 27th ONLY!
- 3k Elf Run - 9am
- 10k - 9:30am
- 5k - 9:45 am
RACE COURSE:
The 5k loop will be a combination of hills, flats, bridge and stairs and all will be on trails around the Kortright Center. The 10k will be two loops of the 5k route and it will be an out and back for the 3k Elf Run.
VIRTUAL RACE OPTION
Can’t be festive with us on race day? No worries. We offer a virtual option. Get out on your own or with your friends and spread the joy of the season, by crossing the finish line using your own route, distance and best of all you can run or walk at your convenience. Virtual participants receive giveaway from Sue's Soap Creations, festive bib and medal.
How It Works:
- Participants will have their items shipped to them.
- Run or walk your race from wherever you are – whenever you want between November 26th to December 25th, 2022.
- Virtual times should be submitted through your Race Roster dashboard or use the RunKeeper App.
- Finish times will not be valid for awards.
- Post a picture of yourself (and your ugly sweater/onesie) and your medal on social media using #UglySweaterRun
ELF RUN
The Elf Run is a timed race for children and families
- The course is ~3k.
- Parents are welcome to sign up and run with their children.
- Elf Run participants will receive an official festive bib and medal/tree ornament.
CANCELLATION POLICY/REFUNDS
We believe in providing a safe and fun race environment, however, Mother Nature and Jack Frost are not always in the festive spirit.
- The event will go ahead, rain, shine or snow. If weather or other conditions present a danger to participants (thunder/lightning, blizzard etc), we maintain the right to cancel, modify or delay the start of the race.
- We do not offer refunds or deferrals.
- You may be able to transfer your bib to another person - just click on the TRANSFER button on the home page and follow the instructions.
RACE RULES & REGULATIONS
The most important thing is to have fun and enjoy your race, but we do have some basic rules that will ensure that things run smoothly.
- No baby joggers or strollers are allowed.
- No headphones - not even in one ear
- No bikes, skis, snowshoes, etc. are allowed on course
- Dogs are allowed, but must start at the back of the race, be on a leash and must be friendly. Please scoop if they poop and dispose of it in the garbage bins.
- Bibs must be worn on the front outer most layer of clothing or costume and must be visible at all times, otherwise, you won't find your high-res photos or get a time when you cross the mat.
