10K course will be a double loop of the 5K course. Both races will start at 4:30 PM, after the Kids' Race that starts at 4:00 PM. Please note that the Kids' Race is now an out-and-back route from the Start Line (not the looped route shown in map).

Emergency Procedures – Serious Injury (Potentially Life-Threatening)
1. Call 9-1-1 yourself or have someone else call if there are others nearby
- If qualified, provide basic life support and follow directions of EMS Dispatch

3. Contact the Run Calgary Operations Director (Jon Bird) and request Medical support
- If somebody nearby with a race radio, contact the race director on Channel 1
- If unable to locate someone with race radio, volunteer or delegate to call the Operations Director (Jon Bird) at 403-618-2473 (back of Race Crew lanyard)
- Provide location and participant’s bib number (not name)
- Do not broadcast any personal details on the radio unless requested by race official/Medical

Dog Altercation Management
1. Immediate Management Steps:
- Step 1: Get dogs separated
- Instruct owners to separate dogs
- Volunteers, spectators or race officials should not intervene and attempt to separate dogs
- Step 2: Get written report from both dog owners and any witnesses
- Bring both dog owners and any witnesses to Bag Check/Info Tent to complete Incident Report Form (Run Calgary staff to assist)
2. If human is bit by dog:
- Bylaw MUST be called by either person (or parent/guardian if minor involved) or Run Calgary race official
3. Run Calgary Operations Director (Jon Bird) to be notified immediately if human or animal injury has occurred
- If somebody nearby with a race radio, contact the Operations Director (Jon Bird) on Channel 1
- If unable to locate someone with race radio, volunteer or delegate to call the Operations Director (Jon Bird) at 403-618-2473 (back of Race Crew lanyard)
4. Medical team can provide medical support to participants, volunteers, and spectators
Lost Person Protocol – Scenario 1: Adult Reports Missing Child to You
1. Escort adult to the Bag Check/Info Tent at Start/Finish Line (** adult may be upset, not thinking clearly)
2. If the adult is not willing to go with you:
- Stay with them
- Notify a security official (if available), your volunteer Lead, and anyone in a Race Official Shirt/Vest
3. Run Calgary Operations Director (Jon Bird) to be notified immediately of Lost Child
- If somebody nearby with a race radio, contact the Operations Director (Jon Bird) on Channel 1
- If unable to locate someone with race radio, volunteer or delegate to call the Operations Director (Jon Bird) at 403-618-2473 (back of Race Crew lanyard)
- Persuade the adult to stay at the Bag Check/Info Tent until Race Official(s) arrives to assist with search
4. Ask for details → Where did they see the child last? What is the child wearing? Picture of child taken that day? Meeting place or plan if separated?
5. Calgary Police Service (CPS) will be contacted by Run Calgary staff, according to protocol
- Ensure adult remains at Bag Check/Info Tent or with race official to give description of child to CPS
6. Assist with completion of Lost Person Report at Bag Check/Info Tent
7. ALL VOLUNTEERS: Assist with search for missing child, as per instructions from race officials
Lost Person Protocol – Scenario 2: You Find a Lost Child
1. Never escort a child by yourself
- Find another volunteer/race official and together escort child to the Bag Check/Info Tent at Start/Finish Line
2. If the child refuses to go with you:
- Stay with the child and notify a security official (if available), your volunteer captain, and anyone in a Race Official Shirt/Vest
- Someone will come to you to bring the child to the Start Line area

4. Remember a lost child may be upset
- Explain that you are a volunteer – helping them to find their parent or guardian
- Stay calm – ask their name and offer reassurance
5. Stay with the child and talk to them on a level they can understand
6. Assist with completion of Lost Person Report at Bag Check/Info Tent
7. ALL VOLUNTEERS: Follow instructions from race officials to reunite child with parent/guardian

Race Day Volunteers:
1. Venue Set-Up & Start Line Management Crew
- Shift Start Time: 12:00 PM
- Venue Site Manager: Scott McArthur
- Start Line Management Leads: Steph Symington and Connor Griffiths
- After Venue site set-up is completed, volunteers will move to help with Start Line Management. Once all races have started and start line tasks are completed, volunteers are free to leave or cheer on race participants
2. Volunteer Check-In Tent Volunteer

3. Bag Check Volunteers

- Volunteers will meet at the Bag Check tent and be ready to receive participant and volunteer bags starting at 3:00PM. Following the completion of all race events, Bag Check volunteers will assist with venue tear-down.
4. Finish Line Crew & Venue Tear-Down Assistance Volunteers
- Shift Start Time: 2:45 PM
- Lead: Lisa Montgomery
- Volunteers will meet at the Finish Line Crew Lead (Lisa Montgomery) around the Volunteer Check-In Tent and travel as a team to the Finish Line Area to set up the water and Nuun tables, medal table, and candy table. Following the completion of all race events, Finish Line Crew volunteers will assist with venue tear-down.
5. Course Marshals
- Shift Start Time: 3:15 PM
- Lead: Dave Karpiak
- Volunteers will meet at the Course Marshal Lead (Dave Karpiak) around the Volunteer Check-In Tent for the pre-race briefing and distribution of safety vests and safety equipment. The Course Marshal Lead will confirm Course Marshal assignment locations and answer any questions. Depending on where you are positioned along the race course, you may wish to move your vehicle to a parking lot close to your location.
6. On-Course Aid Station Volunteers
- Shift Start Time: 3:30 PM
- Lead: Andrea Vogel
- Volunteers will meet at the On-Course Aid Station Lead (Andrea Vogel) around the Volunteer Check-In Tent and then head out to the on-course Aid Station which is located ~ 2KM from the start line at the East Entrance into North Glenmore Park. You can each move your vehicle to Parking Lot A or consider car-pooling as a team!
7. Lead Cyclist and Tail Cyclists
