My Story…
I lost my dear Mom to Cancer in 2004. Not a day goes by that I do not think of her. I still have times when I reach for the phone to call her about my day or for advice. Currently I have some friends and family suffering from this awful condition.
I suffer chronic pain myself due to the 4 surgeries and the scar tissue from it. Through the pain and the blessing of my surgeon, I am determined to run this marathon for the loved ones I lost to Cancer to help raise money for a cure. I also want to raise money for those currently fighting this monster. Together, we can help save lives. Any amount would be greatly appreciated.
This run is very personal for me. Along with running it for my Mom, and those who have lost loved ones and friends to Cancer.. I am running it to give hope. As a chronic pain patient, I am running this to give hope to those suffering through pain. I know the odds are against me with my training time being 1/2 what it should have been (due to waiting on test results) but my mind is determined to finish this race. I have went through 4 back surgeries since 2015 on the L4-L5 area due to being rear ended multiple times and am permanently damaged due to it.
Thank you to everyone out there who is supporting me in this very personal run. It means the world to me. I cannot wait to cross the finish line and know how it feels.
