Coaching Association of Canada National Coaching Certification Program
Candidates in this course will learn how to properly instruct the snatch, clean and jerk, and related training exercises in a fun and encouraging environment. You will also learn important information on safety, training program design, competition preparation, rules and procedures of competition and working with athletes of any age. No experience in weightlifting or weight training required.
The National Coaching Certification Program (NCCP) is a coach training and certification program for 65 different sports and is offered in both official languages across Canada. NCCP workshops are designed to meet the needs of all types of coaches, from the first-time coach to the head coach of a national team. The NCCP is the recognized national standard for coach training and certification in Canada.
Competition Introduction Coaches take a module which allows them to present and coach an athlete to an Olympic Weightlifting Competition. Full certification as a coach occurs following submission of an Evaluation Portfolio and Evaluation at a competition.

If you have a NCCP number that has been forgotten, we can find the record for you. It is best not to create two records in the locker. If you need help, we can discuss at the training.

Lead Facilitator: Jill Miller & Ken Miller
Jill began Olympic Weightlifting in 1990 and has competed ever since at the as a master lifter. Jill has been many times World, Pan American and Canadian Champion in her weight and age class. She is an inductee into the World Masters Hall of Fame Pan American and Canadian Masters Weightlifting Hall of Fame. Jill was recognized in 202 1 with Canadian Maters Federation Lifetime Achievement Award. Jill is an International Technical Official and has served at World Junior, University World Championships, Pan American Games, Commonwealth Games events and the Youth Olympics.
Jill is a NCCP Competition Development Coach, a Master Learning Facilitator and Evaluator for Olympic Weightlifting in Canada. She was part of the teams that developed current coaching resources for Weightlifting for the National Coaching Certification program. Jill holds a college certificate in Teaching and Adults.
Ken began Olympic Weightlifting in 1970 and has competed ever since. He is a many times Ontario champion and national level competitor. As a master lifter he has won silver and bronze at World Masters as well as many Pan American and Canadian Masters championships. He is an inductee into the Pan American Hall of Fame and Canadian Masters Weightlifting Hall of Fame. Ken was recognized in 2020 with Canadian Maters Federation Lifetime Achievement Award. Ken is an International Technical Official and has served at the Pan American Games and Youth Worlds.
Ken and Jill have presented NCCP Weightlifting Coach training programs around the province of Ontario and Weightlifting technique training programs to a variety of CrossFit Boxes. Jill and Ken have organized and served as Competition Directors for the World Masters Weightlifting Championships, the Pan American Masters Weightlifting Championships and the Canadian Seniors Championship. They were also on the organizing committee for Weightlifting for the Pan American Games in Toronto in 2015.
Jill & Ken moved to the Maritimes in September 2021 from Ontario.
