2023 Water Fountain Fundraising Initiative

In 1983, 40 years ago, The PTC Running Club started its tradition of donating water fountains to Peachtree City. What started off as a humble way to give back to our community, is now very much a memorial to the founding fathers of the running club and all the members who dedicated their time to making PTC a runner friendly community. 

Last year, our organization used club funds to replace the water fountain at Luther Glass Park. We spent around $11,000 to install the new unit. This expense is nearly double what we spent historically. But we do not regret the expense as it has been a great blessing to many athletes this cold winter. 

Peachtree City has at least four (4)+ fountains that are in need of replacing. The original freeze resistant fountains are outdated and parts to keep them freeze proof are no longer made. The cost to maintain and repair the fountains when damaged has been the city's responsibility. But after 30+ years, it's time for them to be replaced. 

As much as we would like to pay for everything, our club would not be able to stay afloat financially. The cost of this project is too great to handle with our budget. You may think - "Well, why won't the city pay for it?" The city graciously pays for the upkeep and maintenance of each and every fountain, and it has done so for 40 years. This water fountain tradition started with our running club - and it should stay as one of our main initiatives as it was created to honor many club members who have now passed. 

We can't do this alone. We need your help to make this happen. Please help us to raise money to purchase one or more freeze resistant fountains this year.  We know, with your help, we can keep all the fountains on "year round" and maintain these memorials to our founding club members.
