Dear Family, Friends, Business Associates and Fellow Cancer Survivors,

I am deeply humbled and extremely grateful to be alive after being diagnosed with late stage 3 pancreatic cancer in August of 2020. As you may or may not know, I am still fighting the good fight, and I owe my life to UPMC and the world class treatment I received from their doctors.
 
I am extremely proud to be part of the first annual Rush to Crush Cancer ride being held on May 20, 2023 here in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. This is a new, community-based event that will impact cancer research and improve lives. It’s not a race but rather a ride bringing people together to pedal, partner, and participate to help raise critical funds for UPMC Hillman Cancer Center, a leader in cancer research and patient care.
 
My wife and I have donated a total of $3 million dollars to the UPMC Hillman Cancer Center, with a focus on cancer trials and early detection. Many people before us have paid it forward so that I have a chance at surviving this horrific disease. I encourage you to participate either in person or virtually in this amazing event. If you cannot physically participate in the event, we encourage you to make a one-time donation to my team!
 
Whether you are riding, volunteering, or donating to the cause, your participation will help raise vital funds to support UPMC Hillman Cancer Center’s research mission of advancing bench and translational research, enhancing community outreach, strengthening prevention and screening programs, addressing health disparities, and expanding access to clinical trials. Every rider-raised dollar and donation will move us closer to life without cancer.

I appreciate all of the love and support over the last two and a half years of this journey, and the continued affirmations that I am not in this alone.
