My Story…
Once again, with your support, I will be running the BMO Vancouver Half Marathon on May 7th with a goal to raise $4,500 for Big Sisters of the Lower Mainland. I am proud to support this organization that is committed to igniting the potential of young people in our community.
Big Sisters enhances the confidence, self-esteem, and well-being of youth through supportive relationships with adult mentors. The need for their services has grown and they are doing their most important work right now, with social pressures at an all time high for young people and isolation threatening the mental health and education of youth in our community. Your valued support will help Big Sisters match these girls with a caring mentor who will inspire them to succeed and believe in themselves.
Thank you for your support, whether it be for a kilometre ($200), half a kilometre ($100) or a few blocks, and for cheering me on as I run for Mentorship!
Description
Big Sisters knows that every connection counts. With one in ten kids in the Lower Mainland not feeling they have a single adult who cares about them, our programs are vital in creating meaningful relationships for kids who need just one adult to believe in them to ignite their potential. Your donation directly supports our three mentoring programs which support over 850 youth each year. Everyday in a child's life is crucial, they shouldn't have to wait for the help they need to reach their full potential.
