My Story…
Hi everyone,
Welcome to my fundraising page. This is my first half marathon and I'm delighted to be doing it in beautiful British Colombia! I moved to the city recently and excited training for race day, May 6! As a child, I used to participate in Track and Field, Field Hockey, Flag Football, Softball and dabbled in swimming. I would not describe myself as a runner by any means. I set this goal for myself after my mentor at RBC, Charles Lesaux describe the marathons he participated in during some of our discussions. He described it as a mental challenge rather than physical and I always had the misconception that it was entirely physical. I feel excited, excited for the moment I cross the finish line having completed something I never thought I could. I feel nervous I may injure myself given the recent ankle overuse and weak right knee.
To support my training, I ramped up by attending F45 Markville at the end of last year religiously, mixed in with a bit of Barry's and started weight training and running longer distances in the New Year.
Please show your support by donating any amount to help me reach my goal! Once you select the amount you would like to donate, you have the option to donate to BC Cancer Foundation, Big Sisters BC or Canuck Place Children's Hospice which I have selected personally.
Donate to help Carmen raise money for 2023 BMO Vancouver Marathon’s fundraising campaign.
