Be the first female runner in the 100km to cross the finish line in under 8 hours and you will receive $10,000.
Be the first male runner in the 100km to cross the finish line in under 8 hours and you will receive $10,000.
There is $20,000 total prize pool.
$10,000 Prize money is for the first Male and the first Female to break 8-hours in the 100km Ultra Marathon. This is running on the West Coast Wilderness Trail from Greymouth to Hokitika, known as the Destination Westland South Island Ultra Marathon. If the route has to be changed due to Force Majeure, the Event Organizer "CJM'S Events Ltd" has the right to withdraw the cash prizes of $10,000 for the first male and first female that breaks 8-hours in the event.
The marked course has to be run for the 100km and no attempts are to be made to try and shortcut the 100km. If any attempts are made to shortcut the course, this will result in immediate disqualification.
The two $10,000 cash prizes are purely prize money. If it transpires that the payment is taxable income to a competitor, then CJM'S Events Ltd has an obligation to withhold tax and this will be paid to the Inland Revenue Department on behalf of the winner and the winner will receive the net, after tax, amount.
Individual prize winners are responsible for seeking their own tax advice in relation to the prize money.
Entries must be received before Wednesday 10th May 2023 to qualify for this.
