Help Sarah raise money

I am officially running the 2023 Philadelphia Marathon. 

Shocked? So am I. 

This December marks the 10-year anniversary of my dad’s passing. His strength in his long, hard battle with cancer is something I admire to this day. He far surpassed all of the doctors predictions and stayed with his loved ones for as long as he possibly could. I wish he could see the strength he instilled in me now. I can’t believe it has almost been 10 years, I miss him every day.

I’m incredibly grateful for my good health and physical capabilities. I have never been the best runner or most athletic person in the room, but my dad always encouraged (...or pressured lol) me to push myself in everything I do. I have a distinct memory of us going to the track to train for soccer and softball. He told me to run 4 laps to complete 1 mile. As I looped around completing my final lap, he forced me to run another 4 laps. I remember getting so upset with him but I look back and laugh because it only showed me that I can accomplish so much more than I give myself credit. In the spirit of challenging myself, I have completed a few half-marathons but a full marathon seems like the big kahuna. So, Dad, here’s to me running 26.2 miles!
