My Story…
I signed up for the Philadelphia Half Marathon scheduled for November 18th sometime in summer and joined the fundraiser for AACR by contributing $250. It would be my wife Priyanka's birthday the day after that Half Marathon, and it would be the best gift for her, as she made it our habit to donate for our life milestones.
I didn't know then that I would lose my Dad to what is most likely cancer a month later. I took a break from running for a month and started preparing again in October. I completed the Rocky Run Half Marathon last weekend, which gave me the confidence for the Philly Half Marathon and to work on the fundraiser again.
American Association for Cancer Research (AACR) is the largest cancer research organization dedicated to accelerating the conquest of cancer.
I would like to request you to help AACR fight cancer by contributing whatever you can to the AACR fundraiser. I will add $500 to the total amount raised for the fundraiser if we reach $1500 and dedicate it to my Dad.
My legs are still sore from last week's half, but I promise that I'll drag my feet and all my body parts to finish the run😊.
