My Story…
I haven't run a marathon in 4 years. I decided to run this year because I want to make a difference, even if a small one. I want to run FOR something. More specifically, FOR someone.
I am running the Philly marathon for some close friends who have endured the exhausting and painful effects of the dreadful disease of cancer over the past year. I am running for them and their amazing teenage daughter, who is battling osteosarcoma with bravery, positivity, and sheer determination.
Cancer impacts so many of us, and in so many ways. While I am running for my cause, thousands more are running for their own causes, their own personal stories. I know when I am exhausted and feeling like I can't finish, thinking of our friends and their daughter, and all that they have endured, will give me all the inspiration I need to cross that finish line.
