Mississauga Humane Society

Mississauga Humane Society (MHS) is a registered non-profit charity founded in 1999. Our mission is to promote animal welfare through education and to find each of our rescue dogs and cats a forever home. Every animal in our care is given the opportunity to thrive; senior animals, FIV positive cats, neonatal kittens, and much more are given the best medical and emotional support throughout their time with us.

We are completely volunteer and donation run, relying on the generosity of our community in all aspects of our mission. We do not have a shelter, instead, have an extensive network of foster homes to give every animal a safe place to rest, recover, and heal before they are ready to go home.  Our team of volunteers also lend their skills to everything behind the scenes like technical support, administrative tasks, and fundraising efforts; we appreciate the talents and skills all our volunteers bring to keep MHS thriving!
