OVERVIEW OF SCHOOLS EVENT
There will be 3 main competitions and awards for this event:
- SCHOOL CHAMPIONSHIPS - Perpetual Trophy for male and female teams
- ALL SCHOOLS PARTCIPATION AWARD
- MEDALS for overall 1st, 2nd and 3rd place getters for each gender (overall fastest times across ALL Schools event)
The objective of the event is to provide a platform to enable schools to compete (as a team) against each other for the School Championship (Perpetual Trophy) as well as provide an opportunity and incentive for ALL schools to get involved through active participation and to support and raise funds and awareness for Mental Health. A separate Award will be presented to each type of School with the largest number of participants on the day.
EVENTS AND SCORING SYSTEM:
- SCHOOL CHAMPIONSHIPS - Perpetual Trophy for Male and Female
- Point System - lowest aggregate score based on placings for each gender using the net times of each individual (First 6 runners to count)
- For Example; Fastest Time = First Place = 1 Point, Second Fastest Time = Second Place = 2 Points, Third Fastest Time = Third Place = 3 Points etc etc for first 6 fastest runners for each gender and school. School Championships are awarded to the School and Gender with the lowest aggregate points. 1 award for Male team and 1 award for female.
- Separate Categories for Boys and Girls (co-ed schools are welcome to field a male and female team)
- ALL SCHOOLS PARTCIPATION AWARDS - Separate Awards will be presented to the Schools with the largest number of participants on the day. There will be 3 x awards for each school type; All boys, All Girls and Co-ed.
- Results will be available online for each gender, age category and school.
- MEDALS will be presented to overall 1st, 2nd and 3rd place getters for each gender (based on overall fastest times across the ALL Schools event)
- Format: Waves / Pulse Starts:
- Depending on the number of schools and runners in the event - we will use staggered /pulse starts for with the fastest runners encouraged to start in the first waves
- Results will be recorded on net times based on when the runner crosses the start timing matt and when they cross the finish timing matt, irrespective of which wave start they are in.
PRICING (Junior Under 18):
- $36 Exclusive Price for students participating for their School Team in the Battle of the Schools event.
HOW TO REGISTER:
- Team Captain to Create a Team in the Schools event
- Create a Team
- Select Team Type = School
- Enter name of your School Team [School Name]
- Create a Team code (this will protect your team and allow only those students to join the team who you have shared this code). NOTE: Make sure you copy/paste or write down this code in a safe place.
- Team Captain can register nominated students directly OR share the link of registered school Team + Team Code to ALL students, teachers and parents to invite them to register students in the team
- Payment Options (School can choose to pay for all or some of students):
- If the School is registering AND paying for students then the Team Captain can pay when they complete the registration process for those students. Click ‘+Add another registrant’ at the bottom of the first registration page to add multiple people to your Work team.
- If the School is paying for students but expect individual students to complete their own registrations - then the Team Captain should purchase a GIFT and share that GIFT Code + Team Code to the students to apply when they register
- If the School is NOT paying for students then the Team Admin should simply share the link + Team Code to ALL students, teachers and parents to invite students to join the team OR Students can search and join the School team when they register on the registration site
- Invoicing - if any School wishes to be invoiced directly for their school team entries then please contact RUN THE RUN via email: info@runthetan.com.au (NOTE: Invoices must be fully paid before the event)
- Fundraising – Team Captains / Members to select a Charity Partner for each of your team registrants to raise funds and awareness for Mental Health
How to Create a Corporate Team:
1. Team Captain to Create a Team in the Public Fun Run event
o Create a Team - Select ‘Yes, create a new team and add this registrant’ in the Teams area of the registration page
o Choose the Team category ‘Work’
o Enter name of your Team [Team Name]
o Create a Team code (OPTIONAL - this will protect your team and allow only those staff to join the team who you have shared this code). NOTE: Make sure you copy/paste or write down this code in a safe place.
2. Team Captain can register nominated staff directly OR share the link of registered Team + Team Code to ALL staff to invite them to register and join the team
3. Payment Options (Your company can choose to pay for all or some of staff):
o If your company is registering AND paying for staff then the Team Captain can pay when they compete the registration process for those staff. Click ‘+Add another registrant’ at the bottom of the first registration page to add multiple people to your Work team.
o If your company is paying for staff but expect individual staff to complete their own registrations - then the Team Captain should purchase a GIFT and share that GIFT Code + Team Link [+ Team Code] to the staff to apply when they register
o If your company is NOT paying for their staff then the Team Admin should simply share the Team Link [+ Team Code] to ALL staff to invite them to join the team OR staff can search and join the team when they register on the registration site
o Invoicing Option - If your company wishes to be invoiced directly for your team entries then please contact RUN THE TAN via email info@runthetna.com.au to request this arrangement (NOTE: Invoices must be fully paid before the event)
4. Fundraising – Team Captains / Members to select a Charity Partner for each of your team registrants to raise funds and awareness for Mental Health
