My Story…
My grandparents were so loved by our family. They were kind, caring, loving, funny, smart and instilled values in my parents, aunts, uncles, and my brother that have shaped who we are today and will stay with our family forever. Our time with them was cut short due to Alzheimer's and Dementia. Anyone who is familiar with how these diseases can impact someone they love knows the heartbreaking feelings and emotions that come with caring for a loved one suffering from Alzheimer's and Dementia. The picture I've shared is of me with my Pop-Pop shortly before he began developing Alzheimer's symptoms, I think about him and my Mammy everyday, and I'm running in remembrance of them along with all the families who have been impacted by Alzheimer's and Dementia.
