This May I will be proud to support the Urban Impact Foundation on Pittsburgh Marathon Weekend. In addition to racing, I will be partnering with my donors as well; I will match each dollar up until my fundraising goal of $5,000. My donations will also be matched, so for every dollar you donate, Urban Impact will get an additional $2! Matching donations will be posted all at once in late April/early May 

Urban Impact  empowers thousands of at-risk kids on the North Side through academic tutoring, career preparation, regularly serving meals, and extracurricular programs for both athletics and performing arts. Additionally, all of these are done in the name of Jesus Christ.  

Over the years, I've been fortunate enough to witness the difference Urban Impact has made on the city of Pittsburgh. Whether it was through volunteer events in high school, relationships with the staff, or fundraising in past years, I've continually been drawn to the extraordinary work done by the UIF team.  Some highlights from this past year alone:

100% of students in UIF's options program graduated high school

25,331 meals were served

843 students were reached in the athletics programs and 345 through performing arts. Weekly basketball games had roughly 100 participants per night.

Over 616 hours in the tutoring center and 1,092 hours of early childhood education.

As far as running goes, my hope is to run my best half marathon this spring! The past couple years I've experienced multiple setbacks in running, most notably an oblique and intercostal injury that sidelined me for a significant portion of 2022. I'm back at it though, excited for this coming season because I believe no matter how many setbacks faced it is possible to train, compete, and get the best out of yourself once again.
