Help Meghan raise money

Hi everyone! Thank you so much for visiting my Run for a Reason! I have chosen a Pittsburgh-based cause that is near and dear to my heart: 412 Food Rescue. Thanks to thousands of local volunteers, 412 Food Rescue successfully recovers and redistributes perfectly healthy food for people who need it most! Additionally, at the beginning of 2022, my world was turned upside down when my dad, Hank, had open heart surgery. He endured some scary setbacks that required him to use supplemental oxygen for several months following his discharge. One year later, I am so happy to report that he is doing better than ever, and the two weeks we spent in the Coronary Care Unit seem like a distant memory. 

Life can change in an instant, and I am forever indebted to Dad's cardiothoracic team for their expertise, knowledge, and compassion. I am participating in the Pittsburgh Half Marathon in celebration of Hank and in honor of Dr. Matt Mullen, his surgeon and an acquaintance of mine since we were children. As a nurse, I feel even a stronger connection to the mission and values of the American Heart Association and Mended Hearts. Consequently, I have decided to match the donations made for 412 Food Rescue and will also contribute to the American Heart Association and Mended Hearts on Matt's behalf.
