My Story
I am fortunate to have spent over 30 years sharing the love and laughter, sunshine and stars with the incredible kids and counselors that create the magic of Campfire Circle (formerly Camps Ooch + Trillium).
This past year has been incredibly memorable... not only did we bring back summer camp but I was able to work with a brand new group of campers as we introduced Sibling Week into our programming for the very first time. Watching those kids get their first dose of camp, after hearing about it from their siblings, was an unforgettable experience and one I'm so grateful I got to part of. Those kids got to have moments at camp that were just about them and they were able to share with one another what it's like to have a sibling whose been on a cancer journey. The bonds between these kids - even my little Cardinals - was so very special.
I also had the opportunity to see the impact that camp has on entire families, as I volunteered for Family Weekends at Camp at both our Muskoka and Rainbow Lake sites. Camp is such good medicine - for the whole family. Watching parents share moments with each other and kids blend together with other families was incredibly powerful to witness. After all this time, the magic of camp continues to inspire me! I'm so grateful for all this community brings into my life...
Being a part of summer camp, fall and winter weekends at camp, and in city programing with kids and families alike has shown me how deeply cancer effects these families and how much they benefit from the community and care that Campfire Circle brings into their lives.
Please join me in support of this amazing organization and help ensure our kids and their families get the fun, friendship and support they really need! Kids need camp and I need your support!!
With heartfelt thanks,
Bevalah
Description
Help bring joy and laughter to kids affected by cancer or serious illness
A diagnosis of childhood cancer or serious illness changes life in an instant. For kids and families, their schedule suddenly revolves around medical appointments and hospital stays, with long absences from school. There is no time for simple joys like friendships, birthday parties or sport activities.
Campfire Circle is passionate about helping kids to just be kids, once again. By supporting their in-hospital, community and overnight camp programs, you will help bring joy and laughter to kids and families during their most challenging times, at no cost to them.
As part of the Campfire Circle community, you are helping to create opportunities year-round for kids to build friendships and social skills, develop self-confidence and resiliency, and improve their overall wellbeing.
More than a thousand kids were diagnosed with cancer during the pandemic—the need is greater now more than ever. Your support ensures that Campfire Circle’s critical camp-inspired programs will reach even more kids and families across Ontario. Your gift makes life-changing experiences possible.
Thank you for helping to build a world where children thrive and families heal.
