My Story…
This year I hit the big 5-0, as my kids would say, become an old man!! So what is the best way to show that age is only a number? Why not just run the 50k Calgary Ultra Marathon?
So that is exactly what I am going to do!
As I tackle this significant challenge, I would like to do so supporting a cause and an organization that means a lot to us, the Epilepsy Association of Calgary. Epilepsy is a condition that can strike at any age, for no apparent reason and can affect not only someone's physical but also their mental health. The Association provide programs, services, and support to people living with, or impacted by, epilepsy in Calgary and Southern Alberta. Hard to believe that 1 in 100 Albertans are diagnosed with Epilepsy, including over 7,000 under the age of 18 in Southern Alberta.
So if you can spare a few bucks, it would certainly be appreciated, and if you are in my more global circle of family, friends and colleagues, then why not look up your local association and help them out as an alternative.
So in reality, turning 50 isn't really a big deal, and even tackling 50k isn't, its supporting organizations that can make a difference. So if you can support, we thank you, its truly appreciated.
