Help Peter raise money

My mother, like my father before her, is suffering badly from dementia. For the past year or so my mother has lived at the dementia care unit of Care South, Sussexdown, Washington Road, Storrington, West Sussex RH20 4DA, UK

It's so difficult to know what we can do to help my mother directly. But what we can do is provide a gift, along with sincere thanks, to the wonderful team of 8 carers who work in the dementia care unit. They do this day in and day out along with other dementia patients in their care. The team is led by Elaine Strudwick.

If you would like to help, please ‘Make a donation’ through this fundraising page to the Dementia Society of Ottawa and Renfrew Country. I, along with my siblings, will match the total of all donations, at least for the first C$800, to give to the Care South team.^{We are doing it this way as it is not possible to 'make a donation' directly to individuals.}

So, for every dollar you give to the 'Dementia Society of Ottawa and Renfrew County', we will give the equivalent money to the team of carers looking after my mother at Care South, upto a total of C$800. If you would like to add to the money given to the Care South team, please contact me directly.

After the race on May 28, I will send this money to the Care South team. This money is for each of the 8 carers, to do what they would like with it. It will be distributed by Elaine.

Elaine said she would write me a letter confirming the amount received. All donations to the Care South team will be anonymous, although I will share the total amount raised for them.
