2023 5 Peaks Trail Running Series: Goldbar

The third race of the Northern Alberta series is located in Edmonton’s Goldbar Park. Goldbar Park is located in east Edmonton (near 50 Street and the North Saskatchewan River) and is home to hard pack trails, technical singletrack, and the infamous Esso Hill. Enjoyed by Edmontonians in both summer and winter, the park is a gathering place for all who love the river valley. You do not get any closer to the river than Goldbar Park.

Course Descriptions, Distances and Maps

The race starts off with 2 kilometers of hard pack trail with lots of room to spread out before climbing the hill towards Goldstick Park and ducking into the single track. The first aid station is up at the top of a steep climb and is a welcome sight in the summer heat. After the aid station, the course dips back into the single track and flows back to the park before heading out to 50 Street and looping back to the park.

Goldbar features one of the most challenging 3 KM kids races - a great opportunity for the kids to enjoy the singletrack.

Race distances and maps are subject to change based on trail conditions up to the day of the race.

Important Notes

In the interest of racer safety and because of the size of our attendance and the technicality of our course, please do not bring the following on the race course:

No dogs
No headphones
No strollers or baby joggers
No nordic walking poles

Washrooms: Washroom facilities are available at Start / Finish area.

Spectators: Spectators are welcome. Spectators who cheer will be rewarded with smiles.

Parking: Parking is limited so please carpool if you can.

Awards & Prizes: Awards ceremony will be held following the completion of all competitors. Awards are given to the top three male and female finishers in each age category in all distances, as well as the top three male and female finishers overall. All awards must be picked up at the race and will not be mailed.

We are proudly a cup-free event: For all races and events, please bring your own reusable cup/container. Thank you for being part of our commitment to the environment!
