My Story…
I'm so excited to finally be running my first Marathon! This has been a dream and a goal of mine for years, and thrilled to now be training my heart out and supporting a cause that means a lot to me.
This October, I will be running the Royal Victoria Marathon to raise funds for Crohn's and Colitis Canada. I have been living with colitis for the past 10 years and have fought long and hard to be healthy and lucky enough to do this. So, I run for all my fellow IBD warriors who are in the fight with me, those who can't get out of bed in the morning let alone lace up runners; those of us who can't remember feeling well let alone dream of feeling good again; those of us who are working hard every day to be healthy, and I hope can join me in the run one day.
Crohn’s and Colitis Canada is the only national, volunteer-based charity focused on finding the cures for Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis and improving the lives of children and adults affected by these diseases. They are one of the top two health charity funders of Crohn’s and colitis research in the world, investing over $130 million in research since 1974, leading to important breakthroughs in genetics, gut microbes, inflammation and cell repair as well as laying the groundwork for new and better treatments. We are transforming the lives of people affected by Crohn’s and colitis through research, patient programs, advocacy, and awareness.
