Our story…
Elway was born at the Foothills Hospital on March 15th 2022, at 7:03am, nearly 9 weeks premature. Elway weighed only 3lbs 3oz and spent almost 50 days in both the Foothills and Rockeyview NICU. Mom was in medical distress following the her birth, leaving Dad with a wife and baby in intensive care. Thankfully, after a long journey, both Mom and Elway are healthy and well today. The care Elway and her parents received in the NICU was simply remarkable, and it was because of that care that Elway is thriving. Michelle and her best friend, (Aunite Rhonda) are going to be running on Mothers Day to help raise money for the incredible NICU's in Alberta. Elway's care alone during her stay cost approximately $180,000. Let's make sure all preterm babies have the medical care they need to grow up big and strong, just like Elway!
**Disclaimer: For those of you wondering why Elway's Dad, Cody isn't running - Do we need to remind you of the last time he played badminton (ruptured achilles)....or how about when his bike got "stolen" - Enough said!! haha! Dad will be at home with Elway while Mom runs.
