We are hungry for hippo fun facts, close up meet and greets, and race day swag. And we think Sparky, the Wilder Institute/Calgary Zoo's longest hippo resident, will be the perfect mascot for our 2023 Wild Run!

Please join us, as we run in and around the Wilder Institute/Calgary Zoo on Sunday September 24, 2023 at 8 AM for the annual "Race For Conservation"! You can choose to run the 10 mile course solo, or round up your crew and race the course as a relay (2-4 members).
The in-person event starts and finishes on St. Patrick's Island and consists of 4 x 4KM legs, all of which transition at "The Rise", our very own party site for The Wild Run. The first leg runs through the Wilder Institute/Calgary Zoo, but all participants have access to the Wilder Institute/Calgary Zoo on race day with your registration.

Sustainability Efforts
This year, in an effort to improve our sustainability and conservation efforts, we are introducing an optional finisher's medal. For those that still love to collect medals from races (we see you!) you can add the medal to your cart during registration! Medals will be available while quantities last. For those that wish to help create a little less waste, you can choose not to purchase the optional medal.
Fundraising in support of the Wilder Institute | Calgary Zoo
Over the last 19 years, this event has donated over $135,000 dollars to conservation efforts for wild animals threatened with extinction.

- Pair of 2023 Wild Run Running Gloves
- Personalized race bib (register before September 13th to guarantee your name on your bib)
- A visit with the zoo animals post-race; your bib gets you a complimentary entry on race day
- Post race celebration in the Wilder Institute/Calgary Zoo and an optional breakfast for purchase.
- Chip timed event.
- Opportunity to help support animal conservation, specifically the Hippo
- Fundraising incentives for raising/donating a minimum of $50
- Please note, registration fee does NOT include race day parking.

- Custom finisher's medal featuring our 2023 animal, the Hippo

Please note that each participant will be charged a processing fee plus 5% GST, in addition to the race entry fee.
Shipping and products are subject to 5% GST.
Refund Policy
Entry fees are NON-REFUNDABLE. NO EXCEPTIONS.
- All registration fees are non-refundable. No refunds, transfers, medical comps or deferrals under any circumstances.
- Accurate shipping information must be entered upon registration. We are not responsible for misdeliveries or lost swag due to participant error.
- Run Calgary has partnered with RegShield and you can purchase a protection policy on your registration if you have to cancel or can't make the event. RegShield is a protection product made for athletes by athletes. It provides coverage for 17 different roadblocks. These are the reasons that most athletes are unable to compete in their events.
