Event Details

The in-person race will take place at Spencer Smith Park in Burlington. In the case of cancellation of the in-person race, we will not be issuing any refunds or returning the difference in pricing. If the in-person event is cancelled you will be switched into the virtual race.

Race Start Times:

8:20AM - Race warm up led by OrangeTheory Fitness

8:30AM - Opening Ceremonies

8:50AM - 1KM kids race start

9:10AM - 5KM and 10KM race start

Race Results:

The 5KM and 10KM races are chip timed, race timing services will be provided by Speed River Timing. Results will be available at speedrivertiming.com within seconds of you crossing the finish line.

Awards:

There will be prizes for the overall male/female in both the 5KM and 10KM events. The overall winners will receive a prize package following the race. We will also be doing age category awards at the finish line starting at 9:45AM. Age category winners will receive a trophy.

Strollers and Dogs:

Strollers are permitted in the race, we just ask that if you are running with a stroller you start at the back of the corral. Due to high temperatures, we kindly ask that you keep your dogs and pets at home to keep them safe.

Weather:

The race will happen rain or shine, we only cancel in the event of extreme conditions. Please plan according to the weather on race day. It is your responsibility to ensure you are taking steps to keep yourself safe.

Air Update (Friday, July 30th at 2:55PM):

As of right now, tomorrow's Canada Day race is scheduled to proceed as planned. The current forecast is predicting that the air quality tomorrow will be at a moderate risk (level 5). If things change, we will notify you by email. Please do what is best for you and your individual health status. It is your responsibility to choose to participate or choose a distance/effort level that reflects your abilities and health factors given the conditions. Anyone who wants to switch to a shorter distance, or a different event listed on vrpro.ca can do so by emailing us at info@vrpro.ca

There is lots of parking available in nearby public parking lots along Lakeshore Rd.

Race Route

The 5K route will take you along Burlington's Beautiful walking trails. The route is an out and back style course and is fast and flat. The 10K runners will complete two loops of the 5KM route (2 x 2.5K out and backs).

Virtual Race Details

Track your virtual run/walk and submit your results for the Canada Day Race using the ASICS Runkeeper™ app

The Virtual Canada Day race can be completed anytime between June 15th and July 15th

How to track your run/walk and record your results using the Runkeeper^TMapp:

1. From your mobile device, go to your Race Roster dashboard for this event HERE
2. Click on the “Connect to my app” button, where you will be asked to confirm your name within the app (confirm your name and the event will be added to your app)
3. Revisit the Runkeeper™ app when you are ready to participate. From your start screen, click the flag symbol (bottom right) and select the race to start recording.
4. Complete your distance and save the activity. Your results will be automatically posted to the Race Roster leaderboard HERE
5. From the results page, click on your name to see your finisher summary

How to submit your results without Runkeeper^TMapp:

Please submit the results for your virtual race on the results page.

1. Make sure you are logged into your participant dashboard here.

3. Click the submit a virtual result button

4. Enter your time it took you to complete the race and submit your results.

Anthony Tullo Music

Canadian Musician, Anthony Tullo will be performing live at the 2023 Canada Day Races!

Award winning Rock/ Alternative country artist Anthony Tullo is from Oakville Ontario Canada. Anthony is a 2017 Top Ten Rising star CMAO nominee and a 2018 CMAO Top five male artist of the year nominee. His song Ten seconds to sundown hit rotation on Sirus radio and his song Shotgun ready tops his Spotify approaching 300,000 streams. Anthony headlined the Mragowo Amphithreatre in Poland 2019 to a sold crowd of 10,000 people. While touring Poland and making radio and Television appearances, he was awarded the Optimist award in Znin Poland. Along with his success in music and three albums under this belt, he has also been successful in film. Tullo has shared the screen with names like Tia Carerra (Relic Hunter) , Casper Van Dien (Melrose Place) and Catherine Oxenburg (Dynasty). Anthony produced his own Indie feature "A Secret Cross in 2012 that won him the International award of excellence at the LA Movie awards. Tullo recently produced the short film REPENT which earned him nine awards from the USA, Canada and Italy and India. Look for his music on Itunes and Spotify.
