Scientists in School

Scientists in School is a leading national Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) education charity dedicated to igniting curiosity in children so that they question intelligently; learn through discovery; connect scientific knowledge to their world; are excited about STEM; and have their interest in careers in STEM fields piqued. 

Our classroom and community-setting workshops are designed to be the ‘spark’ that ignites scientific curiosity and takes STEM learning beyond textbooks and passive observation into engaging, hands-on journeys of discovery. This ‘spark’ motivates lifelong learning and exploration of STEM subjects and disciplines, leading to well-paying careers in a variety of fields.

Scientists in School believes that every child in Canada should be actively involved in the seeing, doing and understanding of science. Not just once, but at least once a year. Not just through classroom lessons, but through their own desire to investigate, learn and discover. 

We fundraise, including at events like the Toronto Waterfront Marathon to keep our workshop fees as affordable as possible, and to bring free STEM workshops to schools and community groups in lower-income, rural and remote locations.
