My Story…
I am a director and the president of the Glaucoma Research Society of Canada ("GRSC") and have glaucoma. GRSC is a national non-profit organization, registered as a charity with the Canada Revenue Agency. Glaucoma is an insidious eye disease that affects over 400,000 people in Canada, many of whom do not realize they are afflicted. GRSC raises funds to make grants for research into the causes of, treatment of, and ideally one day a cure for, glaucoma. Since its inception in 1989, GRSC has raised over $6 million and made more than 300 research grants.
I will be participating along with other GRSC supporters in the TCS Toronto Waterfront Marathon on October 15 over a 5K trek in North Toronto. GRSC has participated in the marathons since 2013 and has raised over $600,000.
I would be grateful for your support.
