My Story…
2 in 5 Canadians are expected to be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime. My dad, who was diagnosed with multiple myeloma in 2020, is one of them.
That's why I'll be participating as a charity runner for the Princess Margaret Cancer Foundation in the 2023 TCS Toronto Waterfront Marathon. My father would not be alive today were it not for the kind of life-saving research and treatment that is funded by the PMCF. I am extremely happy to support such a wonderful cause; I hope you will consider doing so too. And so, to entice you a little more to donate:
I will match all donations made to this fundraiser by the end of October 2023, up to a cumulative maximum of $3,000 CAD. Amid the rising cost of living, I am all the more grateful for your contribution of any amount; no amount is too small.
If you'll be in Toronto on Sunday, October 15, 2023, I'd love it if you came to say hi during or after the race. Marathon starts at 8:45 am Eastern Time; you can view the course map here. Tell me where you'll be during the race and I'll look out for you, or see you at the finish line (assuming I make it there)!
Thank you all for your support.
Arthur
EDIT (1 Nov 2023): The fundraiser has ended and a total of $2,749.55 has been raised! I will make my matching donation to the Princess Margaret Cancer Foundation within the week. Thank you to everyone for your generous support!
