Our story…
LIGHTS helps families achieve their plan for independent living. It is a program designed to give those with an intellectual disability the opportunity to learn, grow, and share on their own.
In partnership with Community Living Toronto, LIGHTS works to provide features of daily living that many of us take for granted yet are so essential to our sense of self: the ability to live with autonomy, the chance to reach our full potential, and a place to call home.
Through its unique approach, LIGHTS improves the quality of life for both parents and their children by providing solutions that are created and managed by the families themselves, with the professional support and experience of Community Living Toronto and their staff. The result, for the family, is greater inclusion in their community, a sense of independence, respect, security, and a tangible plan for continuity of care once the parents are no longer able to look after their child. Through LIGHTS, 87 people, have been given the opportunity to live in a home of their own for 1 year.
Join Team LIGHTS to help even more young people with their goal to live independently in their community today! For further information about LIGHTS visit www.lights.to.
