My Story…
On August 10, 2022, I received a life-saving liver transplant at Toronto General Hospital, part of the University Health Network (UHN) and a global centre of excellence for organ transplantation.
My incredible friend Susan Anderson selflessly donated 2/3 of her own liver to me, sparing me from a longer wait on the transplant list and the risk of becoming too sick for surgery.
As we celebrate the first anniversary of our surgeries, and at the start of Living Organ Donation Awareness Week, we are running together and raising funds to support the Centre for Living Organ Donation which was created by UHN Transplant in 2018 to improve access to living organ donation for people who need life-saving liver or kidney transplant and those who want to give a transformative gift of life.
