IMPORTANT - WEATHER UPDATE
There is a chance of thunder storms on race morning. Due to safety reasons, in the event of a thunderstorm, the race CANNOT proceed. Our insurance requires us to make a decision by 7:00AM on race morning. If we cancel the race, we will notify everyone via email and text message. If you would like to receive updates via text message, you must opt in to receive them by visiting the link below. In addition to emails and texts, if the race is cancelled we will also put a notice here on the event page.
Please note, that the race will proceed if there is only rain and no chance of thunder or lightning. We will only contact you if the race is cancelled. If the event is not being cancelled, you will not hear from us.
In the event of a cancellation, the race will be switched to a virtual event. If you have any questions, please contact us at info@vrpro.ca

Join us for one of VR Pro's signature race events - the Butter Tart Festival Races. Each race kit comes with a finisher medal, and butter tarts! The kids 1KM event makes this race fun for the whole family.
The 3KM and 5KM events will both be chipped timed.

What's Included
The first 400 people to register will get a butter tart medal, a drawstring bag, butter tarts and more! (We have now reached over 400 people in the race).
Anyone who registers beyond the initial 400 spots will get a medal with maple leaf!
Enjoy live music at the race by Canadian musician Anthony Tullo
Everyone who wins their age category will get a special award! Age category awards will be done for the 3KM and 5KM events.

Event Details
The in-person race will take place at Spencer Smith Park in Burlington. In the case of cancellation of the in-person race, we will not be issuing any refunds or returning the difference in pricing. If the in-person event is cancelled you will be switched into the virtual race. Please view our refund policy here.

We will be starting at the compass area behind Spencer's Restaurant, located here.
Start Times:
The 1KM race will start at 8:30AM.
The 3KM and 5KM race will both start at 9:00AM.
The start finish/line for all of the races will be located directly behind Spencer's Restaurant at the compass.
Race Kit/Bib Pickup:
You must pick up your race bib and race kit prior to lining up at the start line. You can pick up your race kit and bib at any of the times listed below.

Race Route
The race route will take you along Burlington's Beautiful walking trails. The route is an out and back style course and is fast and flat.
There will be one water station along the course at the 1.5KM mark. The 3K runners will reach the water station once and the 5K runners will reach the water station twice.

Virtual Race Details
Track your virtual run/walk and submit your results for the Butter Tart Race using the ASICS Runkeeper™ app
The Virtual Butter Tart Race can be completed anytime between August 1st and August 30th
How to track your run/walk and record your results using the RunkeeperTM app:
1. From your mobile device, go to your Race Roster dashboard for this event HERE
2. Click on the “Connect to my app” button, where you will be asked to confirm your name within the app (confirm your name and the event will be added to your app)
3. Revisit the Runkeeper™ app when you are ready to participate. From your start screen, click the flag symbol (bottom right) and select the race to start recording.
4. Complete your distance and save the activity. Your results will be automatically posted to the Race Roster leaderboard HERE
5. From the results page, click on your name to see your finisher summary
How to submit your results without RunkeeperTM app:
Please submit the results for your virtual race on the results page.
1. Make sure you are logged into your participant dashboard here.

3. Click the submit a virtual result button
4. Enter your time it took you to complete the race and submit your results.
Everyone who posts their results will receive a virtual finisher's certificate.
