It's time to lace up!
The tradition continues starting March 11, 2023.
Georgia Aquarium’s 5K walk/run returns for its sixth year. Starting and finishing at one of the most recognizable landmarks in downtown Atlanta, this Peachtree Qualifier 3.1-mile course is a quick "out and back" run/jog/walk for all ages.
Can't make it downtown? There's a virtual option just for you! No matter where you live, we want you to run for the ocean.
Whether your motivation is running your first 5K, getting back in shape, preparing for the Peachtree Road Race or a longer distance race, by participating you'll make an impact on aquatic animal conservation.
All participants will receive:
- Runner's bib
- Commemorative t-shirt
- Collectable themed finisher medal
- Georgia Aquarium swag
All proceeds for the 5K go toward the Aquarium's research and conservation initiatives here at home and across the globe. This furthers the understanding of the ocean's animals to aid in their survival for generations to come.

That's up to you! You can complete your 3.1 miles anywhere you'd like and at your own pace. Treadmill, the park, on the beach... it's your choice!
All registrations are final. Participants may request to switch from the in-person race to the virtual race, or the virtual race to the in-person race, but must do so by February 28, 2023 at 11:59pm. A transfer fee of $1.95 plus applicable taxes applies. We're sorry, refunds are not provided.
The in-person race will be held rain, snow, or shine. However, the threat of lightning or extreme/severe weather in the area of the event start/finish or course, may delay the start or cancel the race.

Virtual runners, if you're in the Atlanta area and able to do so, you can pick up your packets too! It'll save on shipping and you'll get your packet sooner!
