The Australian 6 Day Ultra is an iconic Ultra Marathon Festival held at Thorndon Park, located in the suburb of Paradise, 20 km north east of Adelaide in South Australia. It is a scenic public reservoir shared with native koalas, bin chickens and local walkers! This is an event full of rich history that you will see you walk away stronger, both mentally and physically and with amazing friendships formed that will last a lifetime.
The event originated in Colac Victoria, where the first Australian 6 Day track race was staged in 1984 around Memorial Square. Now known as the Cliff Young Running Track, it was the site of many great battles and distances covered over the years.
In 2005 Yiannis Kouros set the 6 Day track world record of 1,038.851 km which remains to this day.
In 2018 the event was brought to South Australia by Sarah Barnett and Ben Hockings and has since become the most loved multi day ultra in Australia
Now incorporating 72, 48 and 24 hr sub events, there is certainly something here to test you all
