Join Dallas Muslim Running Club for a 1 Mile Fun Run/Walk and a 5K Race in Irving, TX benefiting Ma'ruf Dallas.
On Race Day there will be a vendor area, food trucks and an EPIC kids zone. We'd love to have you join with the entire family for a day of fun benefiting team DMRC and our local refugee community!

- Adults & Youth: 1 Mile Family Fun Walk/Run – 9:00 AM
- Adults & Youth: 5K RACE – 9:30 AM
All races Start and Finish at Sam Houston Trail Park.
WILL THE EVENT BE TIMED?
Yes. The 5K race WILL be chip timed, however the one mile fun run will not. Run for Refugees, hosted by DMRC will be chipped/timed by an official Chip Timing company - and all results can be found online in real time. You can find your results by scanning the QR code on your bib after completing the 5K Race.

IS THERE A SPONSORSHIP DEADLINE?
No. DMRC will continue to accept sponsors and donations through Race Day, March 11 to help sustain DMRC, maximize support of Ma'ruf Dallas, and promote local businesses. Sponsors registering AFTER Saturday, February 18 risk not being included on Race Day T-Shirts and Banners due to manufacturing and printing deadlines.
IS MY REGISTRATION REFUNDABLE OR TRANSFERABLE?
Race Registration for the 2023 RUN FOR REFUGEES RACE is non-transferable and non-refundable.
WILL EVERYONE RECEIVE A T-SHIRT AND MEDAL?
Yes. Every registration, both youth and adult, will include a Run for Refugees T-shirt. Finisher Medals will be given to each participant for the sub-event they have registered for upon crossing the finish line with a correlating race-day bib.

This will be a FUN Run/Walk event, great for parents of young children who are not able to complete 3.1 miles (5K), any adults who want to walk for a shorter distance, and/or elderly community members who are coming to support the cause, but do not want to be chip-timed. This event will *NOT* include chip timing.

For Ages 12 and under. Each registrant will receive a superhero cape to wear during the race. This is a special honor in memory of our beloved and dear Yousef Maarouf, our forever Superhero! Together, let's carry on Yousef's spirit of generosity and love to the ummah. Join Yousef's superheros and register your child for the 1 Mile Fun/Run! This will be a FUN Run/Walk event, great for young children who are not able to complete 3.1 miles (5K) and/or elderly community members who are coming to support the cause, but do not want to be chip-timed. This event will *NOT* include chip timing.

VIRTUAL 5K Closed
This is a VIRTUAL 5K that will allow anyone living outside of the DFW area to participate in the 2023 Run for Refugees. The registration will include a shirt and medal which will be mailed to the registrant. Virtual participants can register for the event, complete the 5K on a self-selected route and then submit times for recognition via RunFar. Virtual Participants are eligible for the YOUSEF AWARD, however will not be eligible for the 1st-3rd place age or overall titles. Participants will have their race swag shipped directly to them and will be sent a link to our post race newsletter. **VIRTUAL REGISTRATION MUST BE COMPLETED PRIOR TO MARCH 1st TO RECEIVE MAILED ITEMS.**

This trophy will be awarded to the individual who raises the greatest amount for Ma'ruf Dallas, insha'Allah. As a donor for Ma'ruf Dallas you are a contributing superhero to the families that are direct beneficiaries of these funds, and you are honoring Yousef's legacy of generosity and charity. May God be pleased with him and reunite his family in the highest levels of heaven.
"The Yousef" award was created as a reminder to live like Yousef, a little boy who in his short but great years, taught us all to be more generous, more loving, and more grateful.
This trophy is more significant than the race awards given at the event as it is named in honor of Yousef Maarouf, may Allah be pleased with him. Yousef ran with us in the inaugural Run for Refugees and will forever be a significant part of our community. He may not physically be with us this year, however Yousef will forever be remembered as the little boy who saved up his money to donate to charities, welcomed everyone with a huge smile, and chased around all the bubbles at the finish line. May every bubble we see, always remind us of our sweet Yousef.

Award winners must claim and pick up their Medals from the AWARDS Tent on RACE DAY. Awards WILL NOT be mailed. Awards apply only to the 5K Race. The 1 Mile Fun Run will have finisher medals.
Overflow Parking will be available at Ranchview High School. We recommend arriving no later than 8:30AM to give yourself time to park at the high school and walk across Valley Ranch Pkwy to the Sam Houston Trail Sidewalk. Signage will indicate where to go for the Starting Line.
