My Story…
What in the heckity heck have I signed up fo... Oh hi folks!
Join me in supporting a great cause! The Ottawa Riverkeeper swim race continues its efforts to raise awareness about the ecological sacredness of Ottawa's river systems, as well as lobby for its right to protection.
In addition to raising funds for a great cause, I'm swimming this one to promote exercise and its support of our mental health, and to continue ascending (devolving?) into my 40th year on this planet in pursuit of fitness which feels good for my body at this point in time.
This race is 4km and will take me from Shirley's Bay, ON. over into beautiful Aylmer, QC. If all goes well I aim to finish this race in approximately 1hr 20min, though... I may end up pulling my floaties out of my speedo and having a Molson Ex halfway there. Cheers!

Ottawa Riverkeeper has been bringing people together to protect and promote the ecological health of the Ottawa River and watershed for over 20 years! With a watershed bigger than the size of England, measuring 1,271 km (from source to mouth), the Ottawa River is home to more than 24 imperiled species, such as the American eel and the Hickorynut Mussel.
Your donation will help to fund vital programs like the Pollution Hotline, our Watershed Health Assessment & Monitoring program, our Riverwatch network of incredible volunteers, and more!
